Luanda, the capital, is about 7 hours across the South Atlantic from São Paulo via TAAG Airlines. There are also direct flights from Lisbon,Johannesburg and Windhoek – by air Angola is not difficult to get to. Visas, however,must be applied for several weeks in advance.

The difficult part begins once you are on the ground. Transportation is very difficult with few paved roads. Hotels in Luanda are amongst the most expensive in the world – yet of very poor quality.

A tiny sliver of a country connected to the rest of the world via Senegal, and flights from London. The footage looks remarkably like the ArcticTropic footage from the coast of Orissa, India. We have 2 beach destinations in Gambia right now.

Gabon is quickly becoming a new frontier for African Safaris. The Loango Region is spectacular – with jungle wildlife along the pristine Atlantic Coast. There are daily flights from Paris. ArcticTropic has three links to Gambian destinations right now.

A drive into the Heart of Darkness. The Congo is one of the few areas of the world that is becoming LESS developed , as the jungle reclaims Colonial development – hence all the better for exploration. ArcticTropic is open to any suggestions for listings of exploration leadership enterprises.
